I adore this yarn, and will happily use it again. It is a single ply worsted. I used this for a toddler's pullover, and found it soft enough for this, *very* springy and resilient, and a dream to knit. No splitting, no knots, no color shedding. The yarn is very clean, the color is consistent. It is a little hairy, but this just adds interest (the hairy part not having taken the dye in the same way as the softer part).

See above. I haven't seen the color card for this, but will order it (I got this from Patternworks). I ordered this color sight unseen, and am very happy with it--a dark, rather brownish grey. Compared to other worsted weight standards, I like this best, better than, say, Candide, the 100% wool Brown Sheep single ply worsted, Germantown, etc. I think it would be fine for a plain stst sweater, but really shows nice stitch details to advantage. I can't wait to try it in some of the Kristin Nicholas "New Classics" cabled designs.

Quality comments:
This yarn has a nice soft hand and the colours are vibrant and beautiful - however the grey skein I am working with right now is way overtwisted. It kinks up between the skein and my WIP. It doesn't seem to bias the fabirc, though, and with Fuschia, Clematis and Blue Heirloom colour work should make some awesome winter mittens!

Other comments:
I'd use it again. Hopefully not all the skeins are so overtwisted. I'll porbably also try this for my weaving - it's very soft and warm.

Good quality, no knots, no overtwisting. I did have some splitting problems, but nothing terrible. FYI, I washed my swatch in the machine (cold wash, gentle cycle) and it did fine.

Other comments:
I made a seed stitch pullover, and the slight fluffiness of the mohair adds nicely to the look. This is very nice yarn to work with. A little "sticky" to frog, but again, nothing too terrible. I would use it again for an outside-type sweater (pullover or cardigan), since it's *very* warm. It was cozy to have on my lap!

Quality comments:
The black bleeds quite a bit in the felting process, but shrinks very nicely and consistently.

Other comments:
Has a slightly handspun appearance. Have used Lamb's Pride several times, and always happy with results. All previous uses have been for felted items. This yarn looks like it would be very useful for Aran items. The yarn is hardy enough to show intricate stitches.

Very good. I have
found the occasional
knot but never any
other defects,
and I have used this
for many small
projects. It felts
beautifully, except for
the white and cream
colors.

Other comments:
I used this at a tight gauge for a very thick, warm pair of Birkenstock socks.
They still look beautiful after 2 years of wear, just a little fuzzier because some of the mohair strands have worked loose. No pilling or thin spots yet, though, and very little shedding. In other projects, with a looser gauge it sheds mo-hairs, but not excessively. Knitting this yarn results in a fabric that is slightly thicker and definitely warmer than the average worsted 100% wool yarn, and a little fuzzier and loftier too.

I have been wearing the
first sweater regularly
for three year and am
glad to see that it has
not started pilling. I
was also happy to note
that the deeply colored
Jack's plum sweater did
not bleed a bit when I
washed it.

I've knit two cardigans with this yarn and am very happy with them. The aran, in particular, is lovely.

I used these two colors
to make felted clogs
for my brother (hence,
the overly large needle
size). The yarn was
easy to knit up, with
just 1 knot in 5 skeins.
The yarn felted
wonderfully, resulting
in a soft, fuzzy, dense
fabric. I wish the
clogs were for me!

Tends to have a bit of
VM in it. Sometimes it
is unevenly spun (very
thick to very thin).

Other comments:
Good for felting projects (bags, clogs), unless you want to make something square - because it's a single-ply yarn, it tends to torque when felted and go out-of-square.

Super yarn, always
dependable, great
colors, top quality.
Lamb's Pride is always
my first choice for a
basic yarn. It knits to
a hand I like--almost
firm for mittens.

A wonderful yarn for mittens, sweaters, and hats. I choose it over and over again. There's almost always a color that matches something else...

It's a tad on the itchy
side, but not so much
that my kids won't wear
it. I love the stitch
definition and it is
enjoyable to knit with.
I tend to be a loose
knitter so it is not
uncommon for me to have
to go down a needle
size (or 2 or 3) to get
gauge.

Other comments:
I love working with this yarn. I use Lamb's Pride Bulky quite a bit, as well, and I love this just as much. I love that it is inexpensive and high in yardage but definitely a step up from the Walmart/craft store yarns.
