Did this yarn split? No. Were there lots of knots? No. Did the color come off in your hands? No. Was there a lot of "chaff"? No. Did the skeins seem to be of uneven length? No. Was color consistent among skeins? Yes. I have made two-three garments form this wool and have been amazed athow well it knits up, how well it shows off texture patterns. And after two years of wearing a "fisherman" from the Fisherman Sweaters book by Alice Starmore, the sweater looks brand new. It washed extremely well. It hasnt pilled AT ALL.
Other comments:
Would this yarn look smashing for any particular stitch or style? Textures and cables. All things considered, did you like or hate the feel of working with this? It is a tiny yarn on tiny needles but well worth the time and effort. It softens slightly when washed, but still holds its body and shape very well. Would you use it again? Yes and I have some waiting for me right now. I got yarn for the Alice Starmore Maidenhair cardigan...can't wait to start it. Did it hold up in the wash? Yes, very well

Quality comments:
A beautiful, tightly spun yarn. I didn't enjoy working with it, because the firm yarn at this gauge on small needles (which I needed to get gauge) hurt my hands after a bit.
Other comments:
I made the Sheilavig vest from "In the Hebrides". This is the yarn called for in the pattern, and gives the perfect definition to the stitches and body to the garment. I didn't enjoy working with the yarn, but I am very pleased with the finished product.
