Quality comments:
Yarn has typical somewhat scratchy shetland feel, but was pleasant to knit with.Yarn was nice quality, no knots, no chaff, no color crocking. The yarn "bloomed" after handwashing and blocked well, showing off the stitch pattern nicely.

I made two Ardvey tams from this yarn (from In the Hebrides). I would use it again.

This yarn is nice, but it tends to split. The skeins I'm using got really knotty and I had to untangle it before I even started. But it's soft and the colors are lucious.

I used this in a stockinette fair isle Christmas stocking. It looked nice, but I did some ribbing at the top and it looked even better. The yarn feels really soft in the skein and knitted up, but it's a bit rough going through my fingers. I would use it again, because it's so beautiful, but I would try a different stitch.

I found this yarn to be very soft for shetland. There were few knots, as I remember. I didn't split easily and was very clean of straw, etc. I had to finish the sweater with a different dye lot, but it wasn't visible. I really like the heathering of this color--it's beautiful and won't show dirt really at all.

I made a baby's polo sweater with a purl st diamond pattern which showed up wonderfully. It seems to have held up very well, considering it's being worn by a baby. The yarn was very nice to work with, lots of body. I would definitely use this yarn again, but I won't be able to afford to make an adult-sized sweater, as a college student. For possible substitutes I can think of Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Worsted and green Mtn Spinnery worsted wt yarns. But I haven't used either for textured patterns.

Lovely stuff -- no knots, evenly spun.

I love this yarn! This is a "shetland" wool yarn, but in a heavier weight than traditional Shetland jumper yarn. Very lightweight and warm. Not really very soft. Colors are lovely heathers. Does pill a little over time, but not severely. I made "Caledonia" a textured patterm from the Starmore pamphlet "A Scottish Garland".

My absolute favorite
worsted weight yarn! I
have made several
garments from this
spectatular yarn and
have NEVER found a
knot, thin spot or any
defect.
