Very nice feel, and easy to work with. Less tiring on hands than usual cottons. 4 of the 6 skeins I used were tangled inside, which was annoying. No knots. Very even spinning. No pilling as I worked. I haven't washed this yet, so can't comment on wearing.
|
|
Other comments:
I liked this a lot and will use it again. Lace stitches blocked out nicely. Very comfortable to wear -- great for kids. Wool content is not noticeable in appearance or feel, but probably contributes to the springier feel. Colors are not as attractive (IMO) as Tahki Cotton Classic, but I think the two could be interchanged nearly exactly in any pattern.

Excellent. No knots or breaks. The skeins do fall apart rather easily though.

Other comments:
Very pleasant to knit, with none of the hand-tiring quality sometimes ascribed to cottons.

As others have commented, the skeins fall apart towards the end and form in a snarl every time. The yarn is so soft that it is not terribly hard to make into a neat ball, but it is annoying each skein. I used a total of 10 skeins for my project and two of them had a few knots. The yarn is very evenly textured.
|
|
Other comments:
The yarn is so nice that it would be alsost impossible not to love! The fabric it makes is soft and drapes nicely. The stitches are well defined. I made a large men's sweater with 10 skeins. I a gree with another review in that the colors I've seen are not to die for, but on the other hand, they could be worse.

Quality comments:
The skein says some bleeding is common, but I didn't have any problem with this. This yarn does tend to split a little, and the skeins knot up at the end. But it was very nice to work with, and my kids say the finished sweaters feel great, so I'm happy with it. One problem with the finished garments is that they do snag easily. I find myself making lots of minor repairs. But it's worth it to have made something the kids will actually wear!
|
|
Other comments:
It takes a long time to dry when washed. To speed up the process a little, I threw the sweater in the dryer for just a COUPLE of minutes. It doesn't seem to have hurt. Yes, I'd use this yarn again, this time for me.

A very nice cotton yarn. Doesn't split much, great yardage, has a little more "give" than most cottons. Very soft. Very few knots (Only 1 or 2 in the 15 balls I used)
|
|
Other comments:
Shows up aran stitches very well, since it has a matte finish and is not textured. Feels very soft and comfortable to wear. Does stretch somewhat but not as much as other cottons of similar weight I have knitted with. Manufacturer claims the yarn may run when washed; I haven't made a multicolored garment so I don't know if this would be a problem.

I made a sweater out of this and washed it in cold water & the delicate cycle of my washing machine as I do most of my knits. I laid it out to dry and when it was dry it had pale green fuzz all over it! Not fuzz balls that can be picked off, but fuzz. The sweater is an oliv-y brownish color so no hint of mint green. I just want everyone who uses Cotton Fleece to be careful about washing it in the washing machine. I have quite a few different colors in it, some I've knitted up and some wait ing for the perfect project. I've not had trouble with any of the others.

Lovely, soft, but prone
to tangles. Mine also
separated into its
individual strands.

|
Other comments:
NOT FOR BEGINNERS. While my stockinette looked great and was easy to do, ribs and pattern stitches were truly difficult due to the separating strands. It's also difficult to correct errors because of the separation.

Most cottons are very
tiring to my hands, and
rough on my carpal

Cotton Fleece caused no
problems at all.

Other comments:
I used this for the "Practical Cardigan" in _Knitting the New Classics_ and could not be more pleased with the results.
The yarn is very soft, with a good springy feel in my hands as I worked and in the final garment. I had no real problems with splitting -- and I was working an allover basketweave pattern with cable twists. The button bands were wimpy in a k1p1 rib, so I used a k2p2 rib and twisted the knit stitches with great results. I love this yarn, and plan to use it for many more projects.

Lovely yarn, very
smoth, made me think of
silk. Only one knot so
far, and no splitting
issues at all. I'm
making a shell for a
business suit and it
looks very professional
and dressy.

The price is right to get the look of much more expensive yarn. I basically love it!

I thought this was a
wonderful yarn to work
with, except for the
fact that it probably
should be hand washed.
I used it for a baby
sweater because I don't
like to use wool for
babies, and I was
looking for a soft
cotton. This yarn
resulted in a wonderful
garment with lovely
drape. It felt
wonderful in the hands
to knit with. The yarn
did not split and had
no knots in the three
or so skeins I used.
I would definitely use
this yarn again,
especially when unsure
if wool is appropriate.
|
|
Other comments:
I think this yarn may not be suitable for someone who likes to throw everything in the washing machine and dryer. Otherwise it is highly suitable for anyone who likes a combination of the drape of cotton and the softness of wool combined in a single yarn. I thought the weight of the fabric in stockinette would be just right for cool spring and summer evenings.

Very soft and pleasing
to knit. It tends to
un-twist as you handle
it, which is what
causes the splitting
remarked upon by
others, but if you pay
attention it's not a
big problem. I did a
lot of unravelling and
re-knitting as I was
making up my pattern as
I went along, without
any adverse effect on
the yarn.
|
|
Other comments:
I used a smaller gauge than recommended because I was knitting socks and wanted to increase their durability. Time will tell how durable they are, but they are certainly good-looking and comfortable - cushy, yet firm, and they breathe wonderfully.

I too love this yarn
and find it much more
pleasant to work with
than 100% cotton.
Splitting yarn is the
one thing to pay
attention to. I got
into the habit of
checking each row as I
went. I have made two
sweaters with CF and
have only rarely
encountered knots in a
skein. The knitted
fabric looks smooth and
polished.
|
|
Other comments:
Cotton Fleece is perfect for mild climates although too warm for a summer sweater. I have had no problem with machine washing, although machine drying has resulted in a bit of fuzzing. Color bleeding stopped after the first wash/rinse so not a problem for me. I would hesitate to use it in a baby blanket because of the weight (definitely heavier than wool).

I've had no problem
with splitting or
knotting. The colors
are more muted/softer

I'd rate it a good yarn
to use for those new to
knitting with cotton.

Nice quality. Only one
small knot (two plies of
the whole yarn) in 4
skeins. Perfect for a
Spring-weight sweater
for a pre-teen. Can't
comment about tangles -
we reskeined everything
during the dyeing process.
|
|
Other comments:
Perfect for teaching a pre-teen how to sponge-dye with Procion dyes - takes dye well and she loves the colors we got. She knit well with it, no particular problem with splitting, and not as heavy and stiff to work with as pure cotton.
